Peggy Malone & Associates, Inc. has been conducting traffic counts throughout the Southeastern & Mid-Atlantic Regions for over ten years. We have been a Prime Consultant and Subconsultant for over 1,100 projects the past five years. These projects range from small jobs with just a few tasks to large jobs with over 250 Turning Movements or projects with over 1,500 hose counts. We usually serve as a sub-consultant to full-service engineering firms on DOT agency projects, as well as private sector projects that requires traffic data collection.
We have conducted literally thousands of ADT counts, from 24-hour to multiple-week periods all across the Southeastern & Mid-Atlantic regions. We perform classification counts, speed counts, turning movement counts, spot speed studies, intersection delay studies, origin-destination studies, vehicle occupancy studies, travel time studies, license plate studies and other miscellaneous traffic surveys. Our staff is trained to draw condition diagrams, perform signal timings and supply digital photos as well. All data collection efforts follow the specifications in the MUTS Manual.
Our equipment inventory is continually being upgraded and increased. Currently, we have over 450 traffic counters, 70 electronic turning movement boards, 10 Automated Video Recording Units for turning movements as well as experienced field technicians.
What sets our firm apart are the strict quality control procedures in place. All data is processed in our Jacksonville headquarters and data is verified in the field as it is being set and before it is retrieved (and checked frequently for accuracy while being collected). Our extensive database of thousands of traffic counts we have conducted in the past ten years allows us to search for historical data easily when applying our quality assurance measures.
Every single processed count is reviewed at least twice for accuracy. When appropriate, traffic counts are reviewed by a registered P.E. on staff. All of these quality control measures take place before data is submitted to our clients. As a result, we are proud of an extremely high level of acceptance by our clients.
We usually conduct over 250 projects each year ranging from several hundred dollars to over $300,000. We have never accepted a project that we did not complete on time and within budget.
